Interviews

The idea?

Creating an interview-based video requires more than just pointing a camera and asking a subject to tell their story. There are a number of key elements that must be taken into consideration to craft a compelling and successful piece.

Firstly, the format must be as important as the content, with clear audio and image being paramount to allowing viewers to have a clear understanding of the subject. All of the necessary equipment should be checked beforehand to ensure that the video is of the highest quality, with no technical interruptions.

Secondly, it is essential to know the story you are trying to tell and ensure that the questions asked are appropriate for the subject and help to provide the answers you are looking for. Preparation and research is key; a thorough understanding of the subject will be beneficial in formulating questions and ensuring that the interviewer is knowledgeable.

Finally, it is important to have a plan of action and keep to the time limit, while also allowing the interview to feel natural and conversational. It is also beneficial to create a supportive and comfortable atmosphere for the interviewee. Doing all of this will allow for a successful, riveting video that viewers will be able to connect with and enjoy.
